A coating locks in whatever is underneath it.
Which is why we spend most of the job on the paint, not the bottle. Gyeon ceramic coatings in Kelowna, applied indoors over two to three days.
THE PART NOBODY MENTIONS
Most of what you're paying for happens before the coating comes out.
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your paint and gives years of protection against UV, water spotting, road grit and chemical staining. Every detailer in Kelowna will tell you that, and all of them are right.
Here's what fewer will say: the coating is the easy part. It's a couple of hours. The days before it are decontamination and paint correction — and those decide whether you end up with a deep, sharp finish or a glossy layer sealed over swirl marks.
Coat over defects and you've preserved them for five years. That's why a cheap coating is rarely a bargain: the price difference is almost always the prep that was skipped.
WHAT IT DOES
What a coating actually gets you.
Years, not months
Wax lasts weeks and sealant lasts months. A professional coating holds for years, so you're not repeating the job every spring.
UV and chemical defence
Okanagan sun fades paint, and bird droppings, sap and road salt etch it. A coating takes that hit instead of your clear coat.
Resale value
Paint that's been protected from new looks it. It's one of the few details that survives into a used-car listing.
Gloss with depth
Coatings don't just shine — over corrected paint they add clarity, which is what makes dark colours look like a mirror rather than just wet.
Washing gets easier
The hydrophobic surface means dirt and water don't grip. Most coated cars wash in half the time and dry without spotting.
What it isn't
A coating won't stop rock chips or deep scratches — that's paint protection film. Anyone telling you otherwise is overselling it.
PACKAGES
The coating is the same. The correction is the variable.
Every package includes the Gyeon coating on paint, plus wheel faces and exterior glass. What changes is how much correction the paint gets first. Prices shown are for coupes and sedans — add $100 for SUVs and mid-size trucks, $200 for large SUVs, full-size trucks and vans.

"The Toyota dealer made an absolute mess of the black paint, leaving horrible swirl marks all over the truck after polishing it. Aidan not only corrected all the swirl marks, after his ceramic coating it literally looks like a black mirror."
— Tacoma owner, Jason
THE PRODUCT
We use Gyeon.
A professional coating system used by detailing studios worldwide, chosen for durability, gloss and chemical resistance rather than shelf price.
Paint, gelcoat, glass and wheels all behave differently, so we select the right product in the range for your surface and how the vehicle is stored. A coating that suits a garage-kept supercar is the wrong choice for a boat that lives on a lift.
Every coating finishes with a walkthrough on washing it properly. Coatings fail from poor maintenance far more often than from poor application.
WHERE IT HAPPENS
Coatings are done indoors.
Dust, wind, direct sun and temperature swings all affect how a coating flashes and cures — and a coating locks in the conditions it was applied in. So we work in a controlled space: our garage in Kelowna, or yours if you have one we can use.
Plan on two to three days depending on the correction level, plus cure time before the vehicle goes back out in the weather. We'll confirm the window when we quote.
This is our one exception to mobile service. Plenty of operators will lay a coating down in a driveway. We won't, and the reason is in the paragraph above.
NOT JUST CARS
We coat gelcoat too.
Different surfaces, different products, same principle — correct first, then protect.
Boats
Ceramic on gelcoat after a full correction. From $60/ft — around $1,500 on a 25-footer.
Jet skis & motorcycles
Flat rate — from $349 for a jet ski, from $449 for a motorcycle, over a completed correction.
RVs
Polish and coat sun-faded sidewalls. From $80/ft including the correction.
AFTERCARE
A coating isn't maintenance-free. It's maintenance-easier.
The most common way a coating disappoints is a coated car put through an automatic wash with brushes. Those brushes put swirls into the coating exactly like they would into paint.
We'll show you how to wash it properly — two buckets, the right shampoo, no drying in direct sun. Ten minutes of instruction that protects a four-figure investment.
If you'd rather not think about it, our monthly maintenance program keeps the coating performing and the finish sharp year-round.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Common questions.
-
The lifespan is determined by several key factors: the quality of the coating product (higher SiO2 content typically lasts longer), the application process (proper surface prep and curing extend durability), environmental exposure (UV rays, harsh weather, and road salt can degrade it faster), and proper maintenance habits (see 5th FAQ).
-
If you want the coating to be worth having, yes. A coating is transparent and it locks in whatever is underneath — coat over swirl marks and you've preserved those swirls for years. That's why every package here includes correction, and why the correction level is what changes the price.
-
No. Dust, wind, sun and temperature all affect how a coating flashes and cures, and a driveway gives you no control over any of them. We work in our garage in Kelowna, or yours if you've got one we can use. Everything else we do comes to you.
-
Two to three days depending on correction level, sometimes longer for three-stage. The coating needs to cure undisturbed before the vehicle goes back out — we won't hand a coated car back early to free up the bay.
-
No. A coating adds chemical and UV resistance and some resistance to very light marring, but it won't stop a stone on the highway or a key down the door. Anything claiming otherwise is overselling. Paint protection film is what stops impact damage.
-
Often more than on a new one — an older car usually needs the correction anyway, and the coating keeps that finish rather than letting it go straight back. Whether it's worth the spend depends on how long you're keeping it, and we'll give you a straight answer.
-
Yes. Gelcoat on boats and RV sidewalls takes a different product to automotive paint, but the same principle — correct first, then protect. Boats are from $60/ft, RVs from $80/ft including the polish, jet skis from $349 and motorcycles from $449.
-
Regular hand washing with the right shampoo, and no automatic brush washes. We'll walk you through it when we hand the vehicle back. If you'd rather not think about it, our monthly maintenance program handles it.

Send us a few photos of the paint.
Shot in direct sun so the defects show. That tells us which correction level you need before we ever see the car.
